What is AddressGrabber Suite?

AddressGrabber Suite is a new data entry paradigm ideal for professionals who use ACT!™ to interact with customers. This unique tool can process and convert text in plain English into significant information in ACT!™.

This software eliminates the need to manually browse between different fields to enter contacts and appointments.

All you have to do is, enter the required information in plain English in the Smart Box. Click the relevant Action Button so that AddressGrabber Suite understands the text and transfers it as contacts, schedules, notes or history into ACT! instantly.

What is Smart Box?

Smart Box is a text area available in AddressGrabber Suite toolbar.

You can type plain text in the Smart Box and update the looked up contact with this text. The text is automatically transferred into appropriate fields in the looked up contact. You can transfer the text as activity, notes or history by using the Action Buttons.

You can also use the Process button to transfer the entire text in the Smart Box into appropriate fields and to schedule activities, calls, meetings etc. with a single click.

What is meant by the Action Button?

The Action Buttons enable you to perform various functions with the contact information.

You can add or update a contact, add activities, notes or history by using the Action Buttons. You can add or remove these Buttons in the AddressGrabber Suite toolbar.

How do I install the trial version of AddressGrabber Suite?

What are restrictions in the trial version?

The trial version is fully functional but can be used only for specific period.

After successful installation, you can evaluate the product for three days.

You can also obtain a Free Trial License key and use the trial version for 10 days or 50 transfers, whichever occurs earlier.

How do I obtain a Free Trial License Key?

If you have provided a valid email ID at the time of downloading the product, you receive your License Key at your email ID.

After installation, the eGrabber Product Registration window appears. Enter the License Key in the space provided and click Register Now.

Click Continue to start using the product.

My trial version has expired; Can I download it again?

Once your trial version expires, you cannot use it again. However, you can contact our customer support and extend the trial version period for another 10 days.

How do I register AddressGrabber Suite?

After Installation, the eGrabber Product Registration window appears.

  • Enter the License Key you have received and click Register Now.
  • After you get the message "Successfully Registered", click Continue to start using the product.

I am not able to register the product. What could be the problem?

  • Check whether you have entered the License Key properly. You can copy and paste the License Key to avoid typing errors.
  • Ensure that you are connected to Internet at the time of registering the product.
  • The other problems are, your Internet connection may be slow, or the server may be busy. In these circumstances, check the Internet connection and try registering after some time.

Can I use AddressGrabber Suite in multiple systems?

If you want to use the product in multiple systems, you need to purchase multiple licenses. Contact our customer support to get multiple licenses. If you want to use the product in another system with the same license key, follow the steps:

  • Unregister the product in System A.
  • Install and register in System B.

I upgraded my system to higher configuration. How to install and register AddressGrabber Suite with the same license key?

  • Note down your License Key number.
  • Unregister the product.
  • Upgrade your system.
  • Install the Product and Register again.
  • If you do not unregister the product, it is not possible to register again.

My hard disk crashed and I was not able to unregister the product. How do I register the product?

In such exceptional cases, you can contact our customer support to obtain a new license key. Your former license key is revoked and using this key in future violates the terms of License Agreement.

Note: We recommend you to have a Backup of the software in a CD or in another system to avoid such discrepancies.

I cannot view the smart box to enter my text?

The smart box is visible only in the Standard mode. Check whether your AddressGrabber Suite Toolbar is in compact mode. Click the Maximize button to view the Toolbar in Standard Mode.

My source pages are containing phone numbers in different formats. Can I save them in a unique format?

You can use the Format Options and set the output to be in specific format. You can format the phone numbers, fax, email, and other contact details by using this option. Refer to AddressGrabber Suite Help for more details.

In the Address Confirmation Window, I made changes in "Format" Options. But the changes are not reflected in the captured information. Why?

In the AddressGrabber Suite Confirmation Window, check whether the option "Use Format Options" is selected. If it is selected and still the changes are not reflected, then clear this check box and again select it to refresh the data.

After changing "Format" Options in Address Confirmation Window, can I revert to the original settings?

Click Parse Again in Address Confirmation Window. AddressGrabber Suite again captures the contact details with the original format settings.

I have cleared the checkbox "Display parse result window" in the Address Confirmation Window. How do I get this window again?

To get the Address Confirmation Window,

  • In the AddressGrabber Suite Toolbar, click Show Preview under the Go button.
  • [OR]

  • In the AddressGrabber Suite Toolbar, click Options > Settings and select Miscellaneous. Select the "Confirm extraction results before sending" checkbox.

When I click "Verify Address" in Address Confirmation Window, I come across the following error message. "A connection with the server could not be established". What is the problem?

When you click "Verify Address", the address is compared with the USPS website. So, you need to be connected to Internet while using this option. Check your Internet connection and try again.

When a record is already set as My Contact, how do I assign another record as "My Contact"?

You can set only one record as "My Contact" at a time. You can change the record that has been set as "My Contact" in the Miscellaneous Settings window. Refer to AddressGrabber Suite Help for more details.

I have transferred a contact to ACT!. How do I view the transferred contact?

Click Transfer Options in the GO Button. In the Link Options Window, click the Duplicate Check tab. Select the option Bring ACT! to forefront after transfer. Now AddressGrabber Suite displays the transferred contact in front of all the open windows.

In the Contact Linker window, the option 'Update existing contact' is disabled. Why?

When AddressGrabber Suite finds more than one duplicate record in ACT!, the option 'Update existing contact' is disabled. You can either add the contact as a new record or skip the transfer.

AddressGrabber Suite is slow in looking up for records. How could I resolve this?

Use the 'Reindex' option available in the 'Options' menu of AddressGrabber Suite Toolbar. Re-indexing the records in ACT! speeds up the lookup function.

How to delete a contact from the favorites list?

Right click on a record under the Buddy list and click Delete to remove the record from the favorites list.

My Customer has scheduled a meeting at a different time zone. Can I record this in AddressGrabber Suite?

Yes. While scheduling the activity, enter the time along with the time zone (For example, 11:00 AM EST). This time is converted to the time zone you have setup in your system. The activity is scheduled at your time zone in ACT! and the original time zone is saved in the Notes tab for your reference.

When I try to login to ACT! through AddressGrabber Link Options, I get the message as 'login failed'.

You need to have logged into ACT! with administrator rights to add or update the contacts. Check whether you have the administrator rights for the corresponding user name in ACT! database.

Now try to login from AddressGrabber.
