Once I get the diskettes in mail, how do I install AddressGrabber™ Standard?
Run Setup.exe from disk1 Follow the directions in the Install shield wizard to install AddressGrabber™ Standard. When the user Information window appears, fill in the information that you want to use as your address with AddressGrabber™ Standard . This can be used to insert your return address into your applications. In the Toolbar configuration window, select the applications that you want to use with AddressGrabber™ Standard. The selected applications will be available in the AddressGrabber™ Standard toolbar. A maximum of 16 applications can be selected. Installation provides options to make it easier to start AddressGrabber™ Standard. Select the options that you want to use. Add to Start Menu - Adds the AddressGrabber™ Standard shortcut to the Windows Start menu. Add to Desktop - Adds the AddressGrabber™ Standard shortcut to the desktop. Add to Startup Folder - Adds AddressGrabber™ Standard to the Startup folder so it will automatically open each time windows is started. When installation is complete, AddressGrabber™ Standard opens. A floating Toolbar is shown on the screen and the AddressGrabber™ Standard icon is added to the System Tray in the lower right corner of the screen.
Once I download the AddressGrabber™ Standard install program, how do I install it?

How do I add an application on the toolbar?
If AddressGrabber™ supports the Address Book that you want to add to your toolbar then follow the following steps:
Click on the Red Arrow in the middle of the Toolbar. AddressGrabber™ Standard Options dialog box comes up.
Select Add / Hide Applications Tab.
Click on << Automatically Add / Hide Applications >>
Now AddressGrabber™ Standard detects the applications that are installed on your computer.

How do I remove an application from the toolbar?

Does AddressGrabber™ Standard check for duplicates, if the record was already transferred earlier?
Yes, AddressGrabber™ Standard checks for duplicates. Right now this feature is available only for ACT!™, GoldMine®, Maximizer, Outlook and Palm applications. If the option is selected, it will find the existing record and update it.
When I do a transfer, the record does not get transferred. Why?
If this happens, check for the following:
- Check whether proper link has been made between the Source and Destination applications if you are transferring an address using tray icon.
- Check if the Address Book section of the Source application is open and active.
- Check whether a record is selected in the Source application. Any other windows for example the Printer selection window, should not be open.
- Check if the Destination application has an address book.
Sometimes during a transferring from an e-mail message I get the following message "Please highlight the address and then do a transfer"
If this happens, check for the following:
- Check if the address you want to transfer is highlighted.
- Check if the window in which you have selected the address is in forefront and active.
Sometimes when I click on the destination icon on the toolbar, I get the following message, "The application which you selected as a source for this transfer, is currently not running. Launch the application and try again."
When your destination address book / PIM is not open, AddressGrabber™ gives you this message. AddressGrabber™ automatically launches the address book / PIM after giving you this message. Now you need to click on the toolbar again to transfer.
While selecting the web form for transfer, can I transfer the form or address selected to the notes tab?
With AddressGrabber™ Standard you can transfer to the selected address / web form to the notes section. It does not support transfer of notes or any other fields. Currently this option is available only in PIM's like ACT!, GoldMine®, Outlook and Palm.
What happens when there are more than one address book section in my destination application? To which address book section will the address be transferred?
The record will be transferred to the selected Address Book section. If no Address Book section is selected then the record will be transferred to the first address book section in the application.
Is it possible to customize the field information that the program (AddressGrabber™) is capable of transferring?
No, we do not have the option to customize the field information.
Does AddressGrabber™ Standard support transfer to User Defined fields?
Yes! AddressGrabber™ Standard support transfer to User Defined fields for ACT!, GoldMine, Outlook and Palm.
Can AddressGrabber™ Standard transfer contact information to an already existing record?
Yes, you can transfer contact information to an already existing record. But this option is available only in PIM's like ACT!, GoldMine®, Outlook and Palm. Wherein you can select any field or combination of the following fields such as Name, Company, Email, Phone and Zip in Address Grabber on which update needs to take place.
When transferring addresses from mail / notepad / wordpad / documents / web pages, does AddressGrabber™ Standard support addresses other than US/ Canadian addresses?
AddressGrabber™ Standard supports only US addresses. There are plans in future versions for AddressGrabber™ Standard to support Australian, British, German and other addresses.
Why does AddressGrabber™ Standard Parse Results dialog box come up only when transferring addresses from mails / notepad / wordpad / documents?
This dialog box comes up for you to verify if the address has been correctly extracted. If some of the fields have been incorrectly identified, you can edit it before transferring to your address book.
Will I receive a prompt from AddressGrabber™ Standard for duplicate transfers?
Duplicate transfers will receive a prompt from AddressGrabber™ Standard only when using Outlook® 2000, ACT!™, GoldMine® or Palm™ as destination application.
I'm using an Address Book that supports contact sections for both Business and Home. Is it possible to transfer contact information either to Business or Home section when using AddressGrabber™?
It is possible to transfer contact information either to Business or Home section only from the following PIM's like ACT!™, Outlook®, Outlook® Express®, Lotus® Organizer. Refer User Guide on how to make the transfer.
I use a lot of MailMerge documents for my Business purpose. Can I make these documents compatible with AddressGrabber™?
AddressGrabber™ Standard does not support this feature.
Does AddressGrabber™ Standard have inbuilt applications? What are they?

Right-click on AddressGrabber™ tray icon and select Options from the menu. In AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box, click Miscellaneous Setup tab. In AddressGrabber™ Extractor Setup Group, clear the selection of Confirm extraction results before sending option. Click OK to confirm and close AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box.
How do I keep the AddressGrabber™ Standard toolbar always on the top?
Click Menu in the AddressGrabber™ toolbar to make the toolbar appear in front, no matter what application you are running.
Whenever I boot my machine AddressGrabber™ Standard is launched. Is there a way to turn it on or off when I require?
Click on Windows Start button and go to Settings and select Taskbar.. In Taskbar Properties select Start Menu Programs and click on Remove. In the Remove Shortcuts / Folders double click on StartUp. Select AddressGrabber™ and click on Remove.
Can I change the size of the AddressGrabber™ Standard Toolbar?
Yes, you can change the size of the toolbar by clicking Menu in the AddressGrabber™ Toolbar and selecting Show Small / Large Toolbar.
Whenever I open a text file/ document, source application in toolbar automatically changes to Selected Text. Why?
This is because of the Auto Source Select feature. When this feature is on, AddressGrabber™ automatically detects the application currently open and sets it as your source application in the toolbar.
Since I'm always using ACT! as my source application, how do I turn off Auto Source Select feature?
Right-click on AddressGrabber™ tray icon and select Options from the menu. In AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box, click on Source Links tab. Clear the selection in Auto Source Select check box. From the Source Application list, select ACT! 2000/4.0. Click OK to close the AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box.
The address book / PIM I'm using is not shown in the source or destination list in AddressGrabber™ Standard. Why?
First check if AddressGrabber™ supports the address book you are using in the readme.txt or the Quick Start guide. You could also visit the eGrabber website and see if support has been recently added. If it is supported and you are still unable to see the address book, Close AddressGrabber™ and open it again. Right-click on AddressGrabber™ tray icon and select Options. In AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box, click on Add / Hide Applications tab. Click Automatically Add / Hide Applications button. AddressGrabber™ detects the address book installed in your computer and adds it to the Selected Applications list. Click OK to close AddressGrabber™ dialog box. The detected address book will be automatically added to the toolbar.
Can all address book applications be used as source and destination in AddressGrabber™? Most of the applications supported by AddressGrabber™ can be used as source and destination. There are some exceptions to this. Applications that can be used only as Source: ABC Selected Text. Applications that can be used only as Destination:

Is there a way to check how many addresses I have transferred today?
Whenever an address is transferred, AddressGrabber™ creates an entry in the log file. The log file gives the following details such as Date and Time of when the transfer was done, FirstName and LastName of the address that was transferred, Source - address book from which the address was transferred and Destination - address book to which the address was transferred. To view the log file, Right-click on AddressGrabber™ tray icon and select Options. In AddressGrabber™ Options dialog box, click on Miscellaneous Setup tab. In Transfer Log group, click View button.
How many address book application icons can I add to the destination list on the toolbar?
You can add 16 address book application icons to the destination list on the toolbar.
How do I Hide/ Remove an address book icon from the toolbar's destination list?
